FLASHBACK IN MOBIUS PRIME, BUT CONSIDERED CURRENT IN AU

After the events of Moritori's semi-successful attack on Echidnopolis, the Grandmaster was taken to Haven by Guardian Hawking, presumed to be the fallen Guardian Tobor. Outfitted with electronic eyes and faking a severe case of amnesia due to the extensive injuries to his head, he fit in rather well and began relaying information back to his Legion while Luger took over as the 'new Grandmaster' in his father's absence.

The true Tobor, however, was dug out from the ruins shortly after their fall, and was taken back to the Legion base to be thrown in prison, his wounds somewhat treated to prevent death or serious amputation, but leaving him in a someone broken condition for Moritori to 'review'. After months of solitude in his prison cell, another form of trying to break the poor Guardian, Moritori was able to break away from the Guardian mores to visit his captive, actually unaware of who it was that his soldiers had captured...

(Characters: Tobor, Moritori Rex)

The New Inmate Empty Re: The New Inmate

Post  Turbo Sun May 01, 2011 4:01 pm

Tobor lay on his side against the cold, steel floors of his cell. How long had be been imprisoned here, boxed in like some kind of caged animal? Without windows to look out through and view the fall and rise of the sun, or even a clock, the Echidna lacked the means to keep track of time, the days of his imprisonment seemingly meld together into one long period of suffering. Some kind of metal cuffs had been put around both his wrists, preventing him from using his chaos energy like some kind of portable chaos siphons.

Fear instilled itself in his chest as soon as he had been brought here, making it ache continually like some kind of parasite was eating away at his insides. It may as well be a parasite. The fear consumed him like one, was nipping away at him like one. It was fear not only for himself and the situation he was in but fear for his wife and child.

Moritori-Rex... Hawking had mistaken him for his own son. It took a while for Tobor to realize that the conniving leader of the Dark Legion could be using this to his advantage, pretend to be the loved Guardian and sneak into the lives of everyone he cared about. He would lead them to ruin..

Tobor hadn't seen the other since their battle on the Island. After leaving his homeland in shame, wandering the surface of Mobius, he had soon after been captured by the Dark Legion. That is when he had been whisked away here. The only contact with fellow Echidnas now when a Legionnaire entered the cell to bring him food everyday. They fed him rather well, considering he was a prisoner here. The Guardian had wondered why...

Moritori Rex made his way quickly through the halls, interested in the little Guardian that they had brought for him. They mentioned that it had been a year that this one had been in his cell, yet his spirit had not been broken yet. As far as he was aware, all the Guardians but one had been accounted for, but was it possible that they also had exiles and dissenters? Lone gunmen? Unspeakables in the Brotherhood, like there were Unspeakables in the Legion.

He entered the sixteen digit code (already memorised) and entered the cell with two back-ups, in case this one tried anything. A smirk of triumph squirmed its way onto his face. "It's you!" All accounted for. "My my myyyy..." He sauntered closer to the unbroken specimen of Guardianship before him and grabbed a dreadlock. "Your family was sooo worried for you. They thought your eyesight would never return, so they delved into cybernetics to give you some rather nice, if low tech cyber-eyes. Not that they had to study up on technology or anything. Whoooo would have thought that Haven was such a vile and shameless den of hypocracy? Not I, for certain."

He chuckled. "It feels so much like home, all the basic ammenities, right at your fingertips, and of course, supervision of the entire island, including Echidnopolis..." This was accompanied with a shake of the finger. "What an invasion of privacy! Fortunately, you take most of the monitor shifts... This makes your son very sad, but his daddy is very interested in him growing as... well-educated as possible. And when he fails, Daddy is there to make sure he learns well from his mistakes so he won't make them again." A quick pause. "He's much softer and more compliant than your wife."

He was so fearful for his family, scared, miserable, but there was still the hope that the future wouldn't be this bleak. He'd see the shining daylight again, the bright smiles of his family, taste freedom once more. What he wouldn't do to enjoy the everyday things he had been accustomed to before the 'incident' happened. To lay in bed beside his wife once more and just hold her in his arms as they drifted into dreams after a long day, to give his little baby boy a ride on his shoulders through Echidnaopolis. All he wanted was his old life back. He'd find a way to escape or someone would set him free. Maybe his family realized by now that they were dealing with an imposter? Spectre was still young and probably painfully trusting, as all children were, but his wife had to have sensed something was amiss...right?

Eyelids snapped open suddenly as the door to his cell had been opened, revealing eyes that looked mechanical in nature, irises an unnatural cross shape, golden hues set on black. The started Echidna had immediately uncurled, muscles tensing. The Legionnaire that usually brings food to him everyday was not the nicest of Echidnas... He had struck the prisoner before, wether for being rude and snappy with him or just because he was having a rough day. Usually he would just come and go but past experiences had taught the Guardian that be alert with the sound of that steel door opening.

A cautious gaze set on the one who entered his cell, recognizing him right away even after so long, making Tobor quiver with anger as those memories that stayed forever fresh came rushing back. "Moritori!" He growled, lips curling back with a snarl as soon as he heard that voice once more. How mocking in tone it sounded as he came closer. Tobor's eyes narrowed hatefully, fists clenched. How he wanted to lash out at him right now, make him hurt and bleed for everything that has happened since that dreaded day he led the Dark Legion in an attack on his home, the day that ruined his life! For the moment he stayed were he was, having noticed the two legionnaires that accompanied their leader as his guards. Tobor would get his chance.. he'd just have to wait a little longer for the right moment to strike.

A painful yelp then as one of his quills was grabbed in a rough grip. His eyes did not leave Moritori's, eyes of which only grew more hateful as he had the nerve to mock him and the entirety of the Brotherhood like this. Then to hear that his wife was not compliant had helped to fan the flames of the hope he still clung onto to make it through his days. Someone had noticed that 'he' was not himself.. "You'll be found out. You can't pretend to be me forever, you egotistical villain..! Undo these cuffs and fight me man to man! Or are you too much of a coward to fight me one-on-one like we had long ago? I'll get out of here. My family will realize there is scum like you in their midst and punish you for your treachery." Every word was spoken with such rage. Revenge would be sweet when it finally came.

"You will address me as Grandmaster," he said sternly, but eyes still twinkling in merriment. "Or do you prefer to call me Guardian Tobor???" He chuckled again soullessly. "And your wife, of course, has an entirely different name for you, especially when that woman gets needy for your arms... every week, I think? She's developed some interesting kinks, hasn't she?" He purred in memory. "Your son is much better though."

He took the other's outburst with a grin. "No, I think you'll find them all too gullible. Getting a blow to the head like that and waking up with cybernetics can do quite serious things to your personality and memory. So if you don't remember a code or greeting, or if you tend to sulk off, they don't blame you so severely. In fact, they're so happy to have you back at all that they don't mind anything..." He giggled.

"Guards. You heard the Guardian. His shackles." The wrist bindings were removed, though the Chaos Dampeners remained, and each guard took a wrist to lead him down the hall. "I am just fascinated by you... There are some things we need to talk about." The door to a rather well-kept, but evil-smelling lab was opened, and Tobor was strapped down to the operating table. "You tell me everything you know, and I'll give you anesthesia. Hmmm?" A scalpel was twirled about in his fingers, and he tested its sharpness, finding it sufficient.

The New Inmate Empty Re: The New Inmate

Post  Spectre the Echidna Mon Jun 06, 2011 2:31 pm

(OOC: Huuu, it's been a long time since we started this. Hopefully I can hop back into the swing of things.)

“I won’t address you as either!” He growled, refusing to kneel to the authority that Moritori held here. “Especially not as Guardian Tobor! You’re a fraud! A… a conniving, deceitful piece of filth! Waste of air, let alone respect…” His voice grew dangerously low, threatening, brown fur bristling. But he lost his composure as Moritori talked of Voni-Ca and little Spectre. Pupils would have dilated if his yellow on black eyes weren’t artificial, muscles tensing further at the thought of the Echidna he hates most touching either of them. How lucky Moritori was to have body guards… Not that Tobor would be able to do much damage, if any. A year trapped in a small prison cell didn’t do any favors for physical prowess. “How dare you touch them..!” He snapped. “How dare you lay your hands on my wife and child!”

So much fury…He tried to attack the guards as they neared but was quickly overpowered, finding himself against the wall when its stinging cold met his back. It was a relief when the wrist bindings were removed.. and a horror when his wrists were roughly grabbed as he was forcefully led out of the steel cell and down the hall. The prisoner struggled, of course, but his body was currently weak. And damn these things that kept his chaos powers at bay! There was nothing he could do as he was dragged into a lab of sorts, the atmosphere and the sight of sharp objects sending a chill down his spine. Strapped down he was all the more defenseless.

“You just want to talk, you say. Strapping me down and surrounding yourself with guards… Such cowardice. What would I have to say to you?” He snarled fiercely, still as defiant as ever but that angry look was soon replaced with one of fear as Moritori twirled a scalpel between his fingers… Only Aurora knew what he was planning on doing with that thing.. No anesthesia… Tobor would sooner be damned to the pits of fiery hell before giving Moritori what he wanted. Eyes narrowed again hatefully as he tried to dismiss the fear. “…What information could you possibly gain from me that you haven’t already acquired pretending to be me?”

Moritori stared coldly down at his prey, scalpel still toyed around with in his hands. "You assume that because I have taken on your identity, they are so very free with their information? No.... the fools hold to some notion that one day, you will wake up from your mind's reboot on the amnesia situation, and recall everything again, with perfect clarity." He grabbed his forehead with the hand not currently holding the scalpel.

"So we can barter. I can make life infinitely better for you here in your new home. You can give me everything I need to know and more, and be a willing font of information whenever I call upon you. Or, you can struggle, and you can resist, until the pain of dealing with you is made evident upon your own body and mind... and even then, if you resist to the last, there is a painful procedure where, with a simple machine, we can extract every memory and event from your head.... the singular downside being that it will, in fact, leave you a vegetable. You'd never care if you saw your family again..." A sadistic smirk stole over his face. "Not that they would recognize you, anyway....

"You see, dear boy, by this time, I have insinuated myself into their hearts and minds, in my current form. Your wife has tasted my touch, your son calls out for me at night, when he gets nightmares.... Your reappearance would be altogether inconvenient." His fingers trailed to Tobor's arm, and twisted it, not maliciously, but only so that the anterior side would become visible. A long scar and a barcode were visible - surely he had seen it before, during his time in his cell... wondered what it was? "You have chips and technology in you... your eyes not singular... and you have a name and number in the--" He made a dramatic motion of tragedy. "The all too easily cracked Legionnaire database of members.... If you ever approached them, regardless of what you say to them, you will only ever be seen as a Legionnaire."

Moritori exposed his own arm, blemishless, and then the perfect white marking at his chest. "And I will have to tell you to stay away from my family, of course." He chuckled. "Nothing personal." The scalpel trailed tantalyzingly slow, almost pleasurably across his prisoner's flesh. "Give me everything; codes, charts, names, faces, relationships, personality quirks, shifts, keys, maps....the very essence of you... It's for your own good~"
